The morning's big news story was, of course, that Saudi Arabia's King Fahd (crippled by a stroke ten years ago) has finally died.
While the news coverage has been interesting and thorough, particularly in the Wall Street Journal (subscription required; no point linking to it) and at the BBC, all I could think about is this:
I wish that my favorite Saudi blogger--"Alhamedi," The Religious Policeman--was still active. I'd love to hear his take on this.
His archives are still worth a look.
